My name is Tom Evrard, I’m an endurance sports coach and the founder of Level Up.

 

My mission is to optimize your progress and ensure you achieve your sports goals, whether you're a beginner or an expert in your discipline.

My story

 

My journey with endurance sports began in 2019 with rather modest performances. Endurance exercise wasn’t exactly my strong suit at first... I initially started training for a Sprint Triathlon (500m swim, 25km bike, 5km run) that was taking place near my home. However, I never got the chance to line up at the start. Three weeks before the race, I crashed on my bike and ended up with a fractured shoulder blade... Ouch!

Despite this setback, I still went to the race venue to experience the atmosphere. And that’s where it all started. Not being able to compete gave me a huge sense of unfinished business and an overwhelming desire for redemption! So, I signed up for a half-marathon a few months later. I finished it in 1h55. I had an incredible time during that race, which fueled my motivation to keep exploring endurance sports!

A growing passion then led me to test myself in various disciplines—from running to cycling, and eventually triathlon.

At the beginning, I made many mistakes. I followed generic training plans from the internet, watched a few YouTube videos, did too much too soon, bought unnecessary gear, got injured, plateaued, and sometimes even doubted my abilities in endurance sports… But one thing was certain: I was learning. Slowly but surely, I was learning.

Over the years, I deepened my understanding of the human body and endurance training methodologies. I took courses, read articles and scientific literature, consumed video content, listened to podcasts whenever I could—basically, I absorbed as much knowledge as possible about endurance sports.

The human body's ability to adapt to different stimuli and environments fascinates me. Over time, shifts in my training approach and mindset led to significant improvements in my performance, reaching levels I once thought were completely out of reach.

In 2022, I started helping friends and close ones prepare for specific races. This marked my first real experience as a "coach," and the results, as well as the feedback, were beyond encouraging. That’s when I realized I had the ability to help athletes become stronger and more fulfilled in their sport.

What excites me the most about coaching is the constant pursuit of improvement and the bond that forms with athletes. I especially love sharing my passion and the knowledge I’ve gained through years of experimentation and learning. The most rewarding moment is feeling the pride of an athlete when they achieve their goals and seeing the positive impact of sports on their personal and professional lives—whether it's improving their health, boosting their confidence, or building their discipline.

This is how the idea of Level Up Endurance Coaching was born—a platform designed to help as many athletes as possible optimize their progress and fully enjoy their sport.
